The Air Jordan 5 Retro "Shattered Backboard" is a direct nod to the legendary 1985 moment when Michael Jordan shattered the backboard during an exhibition game in Italy. Although the theme is primarily known from the AJ1 line, this time it has been transferred to the AJ5 silhouette, blending history with a dynamic, modern design. The vibrant orange premium suede upper, paired with black and white, catches the eye and brings new energy to the classic construction. You can also find other shoes in this style in our collection.
Contrasting details, classic technology, and a modern form
The model is equipped with a signature 3M reflective tongue with a black Jumpman, translucent side netting, and the iconic lace lock. Black "shark teeth" with white accents on the midsole emphasize the AJ5 DNA, while the translucent, icy outsole with orange and black inserts provides a modern finish. A foam midsole and Air-Sole unit in the heel ensure comfort and bounce, while the Jumpman branding on the heel highlights the contemporary nature of the model.
