The Air Jordan 1 High OG “UNC Toe” divides the upper into three zones: white on the sides, black on the heel and tongue, and University Blue on the toe box, from which the model takes its name. This is the color palette of the University of North Carolina, Michael Jordan’s alma mater, so the pair reads as a reference to the roots of the entire line, rather than just another color experiment. The upper is made of leather, with a clear grain on the panels and perforation on the toe for ventilation. A debossed Wings logo sits on the ankle, a Swoosh runs along the side, and Air cushioning works within the sole. The pair is available in sizes 40 to 46, including half sizes 40.5, 42.5, 44.5, and 45.5. The leather is stiff at first and shapes to the foot over the first few days, especially at the crease above the toes, so the first impression may be tighter than the final fit. High-top Jordan 1s look best where the trouser leg ends above the upper and does not cover the ankle: straight-leg jeans with a single cuff, elastic-hem cargo pants, or shorter sweatpants.
