Doubled up: what exactly is this

The Nike Sacai VaporWaffle "Sail Gum" is a shoe built on the principle of doubling. Two Swooshes layered on top of each other, two tongues, and two sets of laces are the hallmark of the Sacai collaboration, and they are responsible for its layered, slightly deconstructed look. The upper is crafted from a mix of mesh, suede, and leather in shades of off-white and beige, meaning three different textures meet on a single shoe, with light hitting each one differently. Beneath, a dual foam midsole provides cushioning, giving the silhouette a noticeably raised heel that sits atop a gum-colored rubber outsole. It’s a design that doesn’t try to be discreet, yet remains grounded in a neutral palette.
