The Nike Dunk Low "Plum" is a re-release of a model from the 2001 "Ugly Duckling" collection, back when the Dunk was still sitting on the bottom shelf instead of in a display case. The upper is crafted from suede in two tones: deep purple on the panels and burgundy on the base, with white as a third accent. The suede, rather than smooth leather, does all the heavy lifting here—it reflects light differently and gains its own character after a few weeks of wear. The perforated toe box improves ventilation, classic flat laces and contrasting details keep the whole look in a retro register, and the soft padding around the ankle completes the construction.
