The Nike Air Max 97 OG Golden Bullet is a 2023 reissue featuring an upper entirely dressed in metallic gold. The wavy panels running around the shoe were inspired by Japanese Shinkansen trains, and they continue to define the silhouette of this model. The red Swoosh is the only strong accent of color.
The panels contain reflective 3M elements. They are barely visible during the day, but after dark or under streetlights, the entire shoe lights up with a glow. It’s the same trick that built the popularity of the silver version from 1997.
How they feel to walk in
Underfoot, there is a full-length Air Max unit, providing cushioning along the entire length of the foot rather than just in the heel. The contoured insole molds to your foot, while the rubber outsole provides grip on wet pavement. This is a shoe for all-day wear in the city, not just for the shelf.
