MSCHF x INRI x Air Max 97 Jesus Shoes

Jordan River water in an Air unit

Jesus Shoes are Air Max 97s that MSCHF, together with INRI, reworked into a project that straddles the line between a sneaker and an art object. The upper is white leather with blue accents and gold details, but the most important thing happens in the sole: the visible Air unit is filled with holy water from the Jordan River. The verse MT 14:25, the one about walking on water, is stamped on the side panel, so the joke and the statement go hand in hand here.

Details you can't see from afar

An INRI crucifix hangs from the laces, a red drop sits on the tongue, and the insoles are scented with incense. The entire edition was limited to 24 pairs, which puts this model in a completely different category than a regular retro release and explains why it ends up on a shelf more often than on the pavement. If you like this register, we've gathered the rest of the pieces from this tier in our hype grail shoes collection.

How to choose your size

The 97 silhouette is narrow and snug with a long, sleek profile, so those with wider feet usually feel more comfortable going half a size up. Available sizes are 41, 42, 42.5, 43, 44, 44.5, 45, 45.5, and 46. Measure your foot in the evening while standing and compare the centimeters with our size chart instead of relying on a size remembered from another brand.

What to wear them with and what you should know

White 97s with such a heavy load of symbolism prefer a calm setting: simple black trousers, a grey sweatshirt, no competing for attention. If you are looking for a less extreme variant of this silhouette, there are other Air Max 97s nearby, as well as a wider shelf of Nike shoes. We verify every pair before listing: the box, product code, stitching, glue, and sole, because with models of this class, it is the only way to rule out a fake. We accept returns within 14 days; the buyer covers the return shipping cost.
