The New Balance 550 White Grey is a return to the 80s court silhouette: low-profile, flat, and featuring a pronounced side panel. The upper is made of white leather with perforations that allow for airflow in the forefoot, while grey accents on the side and sole break up the white just enough so the shoe doesn't look like a solid block of color. The interior is finished with textile, the bottom is rubber, and the closure is a classic lace-up. Fit and sizing

The 550 has a flat sole and a low collar, so it sits close to the ground and doesn't elevate the heel—which is one of the reasons why it can be worn all day without fatigue. The leather is stiffer at first than mesh and needs a few wears to break in at the crease. Available sizes range from 36 to 46.5, with half sizes scattered throughout the range.
