The New Balance 550 in white, grey and gold is one of those pairs where a clean base gets exactly one strong accent. White carries the upper, grey organises the panels and gold appears in small doses - right along the lines that made the 1989 silhouette recognisable.
Revived by Aime Leon Dore, the model keeps its original basketball proportions: a low, wide stance, a leather upper backed with suede and a rubber outsole with the classic tread pattern. Retro in the most literal sense - the shape was never updated.
