Kids’ Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 in “Carbon” is a scaled-down version of a silhouette recognizable from across the street. The upper is knitted from Primeknit and has no side seams – the material stretches when putting your foot in and returns to its shape once the shoe is on. The mélange of graphite, black, and beige does the work that a solid color wouldn’t: up close you can see the individual threads, while from two meters away the upper reads as dark gray and doesn’t show every trace of playtime. A translucent stripe runs diagonally along the side, which is the quickest giveaway that these are 350 V2s and not just any other knit sneaker.

What's underneath and how they feel

Underfoot, there is a full-length Boost layer, the same foam as in the adult versions. The step is soft but not squishy – the sole returns some energy, so after an hour of walking, a child won't start dragging their feet. The rubber outsole has a wavy tread that grips both wet pavement and smooth school hallway floors, while also wearing down more slowly at the edges, which is where kids' shoes usually give out first.
