Patent leather and the symbiote face

The Marvel Comics Venom edition of the Bape Sta is a silhouette that BAPE has built around the star on the side, this time covered in symbiote graphics. The upper is patent leather and highly glossy, making the white eyes and row of sharp teeth look as if they were printed on a wet surface. The colorway sticks to black, white, and blue accents, and the side Bape Sta logo remains in place, leaving no doubt about what this collaboration is based on. The sole is rubber, and the lacing is classic.

How they fit

The Bape Sta has a low, fairly narrow cut, and the patent leather upper is stiffer than soft leather and needs a few wears before it breaks in. Available sizes are 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 42.5, 43, 44, 45, and 46. If you have a wider midfoot or wear thicker socks, go half a size up, and if in doubt, compare your foot length with the size chart instead of carrying over a size from another model.

How to wear them

A shoe like this does not tolerate competition on the lower part of your outfit, so the rest of your look should be toned down: simple dark pants, a solid-colored hoodie, and no extra graphics near the leg. Patent leather also pairs well with a cuff rolled up to the ankle, as this reveals the entire side with the star and the full graphic.
