Air Jordan 6 Retro Aqua

Black nubuck and an icy sole

The Air Jordan 6 Retro "Aqua" is a 6 built on the darkest base possible: the upper combines black nubuck with suede, broken up by turquoise and purple accents borrowed from the "Aqua" colorway, previously seen on the Jordan 8. The silhouette remains canonical – double cut-outs on the tongue, a rubber heel tab, and perforations on the vamp that are only visible up close against such dark material. Air cushioning works in the midsole, and the icy blue finish on the bottom gives this pair a recognizable profile from the side.

Fit and sizing

The 6 has a high collar that wraps around the ankle and a relatively narrow opening, so it's a good idea to loosen the laces halfway when putting them on. The length is consistent with other Jordan models you may know, so you should generally stick to your standard size; if you have a wider foot, going up half a size is safer. The available range includes sizes from 36 to 46, including half sizes, and you can find the exact centimeter conversions in the size guide. Measure your foot in the evening while standing – that is when the measurement is closest to how the shoe will fit after a full day.

How to style them

The black base does all the work here: the pair fits into outfits where a colorful sneaker would be one accent too many. They look best under baggy jeans or sweatpants with a slightly gathered hem, as the turquoise on the sole only shows with every step. Add a black hoodie or a grey oversized t-shirt and you're good to go.
