Saucony Shadow 5000 „Saucony & Friends × Bisso — Bondamanjak”

This limited edition of the Shadow 5000, created in collaboration with Parisian collector Bisso, pays homage to the Caribbean herb bondamanjak – a plant associated with energy and resilience. The upper is constructed from a three-layer blend: breathable spacer mesh, soft pigskin suede on the toebox and side panels, and smooth nubuck surrounding the mudguard. All components were dyed with plant-based pigments, giving them a deep shade of green with purple-violet accents, while the translucent amber-colored sole symbolizes plant sap. Premium details – a metal leaf-shaped hang-tag, tie-dye laces, and a numbered "Bisso 1/1500" tag – emphasize the collectible nature of this drop, available in only 1500 pairs.

The insoles are adorned with "Herbal Power List" graphics in Creole French, and the box, featuring an illustration of the Caribbean jungle, reveals the recipe for a traditional bondamanjak infusion. The sneakers are designed as an everyday lifestyle runner, distinguished by a rich palette and a tribute to island culture.

Materials, cushioning, and collectible details

The classic EVA platform works with the TPU Shock-Absorbing Heel Clip, maintaining the springiness of the original from 1989. A transparent window in the XT-600 rubber outsole reveals a micro-graphic of a leaf, combining function with a collectible touch. Zonal application of high-wear rubber and Blown Rubber ensures traction on urban surfaces, while perforations in the forefoot maintain breathability.

The set includes two pairs of laces (green and purple tie-dye, and cream), and the PU foam insoles have an antibacterial finish with silver ions. Every element – from the nubuck dyeing to the illustrations on the box walls – has been refined to convey the energy of the Caribbean herb and Bisso's story within the Saucony & Friends project.
