Saucony Shadow 5000 “Saucony & Friends × Bisso — Bondamanjak”

This limited-edition Shadow 5000, created in collaboration with Parisian collector Bisso, pays homage to the Caribbean bondamanjak herb—a plant synonymous with energy and resilience. The upper is constructed from a three-layer blend: breathable spacer mesh, soft pigskin suede on the toebox and side panels, and smooth nubuck wrapping the mudguard. All components are dyed with plant-based pigments, giving them a deep green hue with purple accents, while the semi-translucent amber-colored outsole symbolizes plant sap. Premium details—a metal leaf-shaped hangtag, tie-dye laces, and a numbered “Bisso 1/1500” tag—emphasize the collectible nature of this drop, which is limited to just 1,500 pairs.

The insoles feature the “Herbal Power List” graphic in Creole French, and the box, illustrated with a Caribbean jungle scene, reveals the recipe for a traditional bondamanjak brew. These sneakers are designed as an everyday lifestyle runner, standing out with a rich color palette and a tribute to island culture.

Materials, cushioning, and collectible details

The classic EVA platform works in tandem with a TPU Shock-Absorbing Heel Clip, retaining the springiness of the original 1989 model. A transparent window in the XT-600 rubber outsole reveals a micro-leaf graphic, blending functionality with a collectible flair. Zoned use of high-wear rubber and Blown Rubber guarantees grip on urban surfaces, while perforations in the front of the upper maintain breathability.

The set includes two pairs of laces (green-purple tie-dye and cream), and the PU foam insoles feature an antibacterial silver-ion finish. Every element—from the nubuck dyeing process to the illustrations on the box—has been refined to capture the energy of the Caribbean herb and Bisso's story as part of the Saucony & Friends project.
