Saucony ProGrid Omni 9 "Callen Schaub" – a swirl of color on an archival silhouette

The limited Saucony × Callen Schaub collaboration brings spin-painting aesthetics to a classic running shoe from the early 2010s. The full-color "spun paint" sublimation print is visible on the off-white, breathable Airmesh 360° mesh; turquoise, magenta, and neon lime blend seamlessly in the style of swirling paints on canvas. Metallic TPU panels and semi-transparent Support Frame overlays stabilize the midfoot without obscuring the artistic graphics. Reflective 3M™ strips on the toe and heel complete the impression of light splashes, enhancing the cosmic effect after dark.

The heel features a ProGrid™ capsule (TPU + Hytrel®), which, paired with full-length SSL EVA foam, dampens the initial impact and provides springy cushioning for long distances. The dual-density medial post and Arch-Lock™ strap are integrated into the silhouette, controlling moderate pronation without stiffening the roll (drop ≈ 12 mm). The XT-900 outsole in high-wear zones is combined with Blown Rubber under the toes; Tri-Flex grooves guarantee grip and flexible toe-off on asphalt. Through the semi-transparent outsole, a tinted ProGrid insole is visible – like a puddle of paint frozen in motion.

The insoles are adorned with a signed reproduction of Callen Schaub's artwork, and the "Studio Spin" box with a holographic logo contains two pairs of shoelaces: multi-colored reflective rope laces and classic off-white ones. A numbered hang-tag in the form of a painting card (##/1000) confirms the limited edition. The whole combines running functionality with gallery-level storytelling, becoming a coveted item for both sneakerheads and contemporary art collectors.

The ProGrid™ cushioning system utilizes the elastic properties of Hytrel®, distributing impact energy evenly across the entire length of the SSL EVA foam. This allows the Omni 9 to maintain lightness and dynamism even after many kilometers. The dual-stage medial post supports the arch in cases of moderate overpronation, and the flexible Strobel ensures a smooth heel-to-toe transition. The spin-painting method inspires not only the color scheme – the motif of paint movement translates into an interpretation of running as a canvas on which every workout leaves a unique mark.

Transparent segments of the outsole allow admiration of the "puddle" of colors trapped in ProGrid, creating an art-tech effect visible with every step. The XT-900 rubber compound protects high-wear areas, and Tri-Flex grooves distribute pressure, improving grip on wet urban surfaces. The model is enclosed in a box inspired by the artist's studio – the holographic logo swirls with movement, reflecting Callen Schaub's philosophy that color only truly comes alive in rotation.
