ASICS Gel-1130 Black Pure Silver

Running DNA translated into black and silver

The ASICS Gel-1130 is a silhouette taken straight from the brand's early 2000s running catalogs and brought to the streets, untouched. The upper is made of mesh, reinforced with synthetic overlays exactly where the most stress occurred during running: around the lacing, on the toes, and on the heel. The Black Pure Silver version sticks to two colors, a deep black base and metallic silver on the details, which only come to life in motion and under artificial light. Underfoot, GEL cushioning is at work, and on top, there is an OrthoLite insole, so the shoe is ready for a full day of walking, not just two hours. The rubber outsole maintains grip even on wet pavement.

How to choose your size

The sizing ranges from 36 to 48, with a dense grid of half sizes, making it one of the widest ranges among the ASICS shoes you will find here. The Gel-1130 has a fairly low, form-fitting upper and a narrow toe box, so if you have wide feet or wear thicker socks, it is safer to go up half a size. Compare your measured foot length with the size chart instead of converting a size from another brand. You can try on selected pairs in person at the SneakersJoint partner store in Wrocław at Odrzańska 15.

What to wear them with

The black and silver Gel-1130 is the safest version of this model: it stays out of the way of the rest of your outfit instead of taking it over. It works with wide trousers with a crease, technical nylons, and regular tracksuits, and the silver details are enough to provide the only flash in the set. If you are looking for silhouettes outside the basketball canon, it is worth comparing it with the rest of the ASICS models and items from the Other Sneakers department.
